About
A simple, enduring ritual tool—functional, intentional, and made to be used.
Hand-cast in India, this small oval censer dish is a traditional ritual vessel valued for its durability and grounded presence. It features four small leg posts, an aesthetic detail that subtly elevates the dish and gives it a poised, altar-worthy form. Measuring approximately 2.5 inches long by 1 inch wide, and standing about 2 inches high, the censer holds a deep bowl designed to support stable incense burning when properly insulated.
For best performance and longevity, the dish should be insulated with ash (preferred), or alternatively with sand and salt. Insulation protects the cast iron from direct heat, stabilizes the burn, and supports a slow, even smoulder—particularly important for natural, botanical incense.
Each censer is sent with a label outlining insulation instructions, and wholesalers are encouraged to leave the insulation in the dish until purchased. This helps preserve the integrity of the vessel’s intended use and ensures clarity for the end customer.
